Both happen every 4 years. Two years ago were the summer olympics, and in two years will be the next summer olympics. 4 years ago were the winter olympics, and this year is the next winter olympics. Here’s an example:
Year 0: summer ol.
Year 1: none
Year 2: Winter olympics
Year 3: none
Year 4: summer olympics
Year 5: none
Year 6: winter olympics
